School’s Out, Fins In!

School’s Out, Fins In!

Why not make summertime a blast with some fun pool mosaics? When school is out, everyone wants to dip their toes in the water. Sure, a clear blue pool is fun to swim in, but what if you could create a stunning seascape with some clown fish, fish groups, or even seagrass pool mosaics

Check out these options for some awesome inspiration!

Clown Fish Mosaics

Clown fish are a brilliant orange and white fish that is commonly found in the ocean. They typically live around sea anemones, and they often stick together in schools or families of fish.

A lot of kiddos and young ones recognize this fish as Nemo and his father. What better way to spruce up the pool for your kids? Create for them an ocean scene that has colorful Nemo, his father, and maybe some of the other fish from the movies.

You could add a squid or octopus, a shark, a stingray, some other tropical fish, and definitely don’t forget Dory from our blue tang collection while you’re at it!

Did we mention that you can even get a glow-in-the-dark clown fish? This could be really fun if you and your family or friends like to jump in the pool at nighttime when it’s not so hot outside.

Bottom Fish Pool Mosaics

Next up on our favorite tropical fish are bottom fish. Don’t be fooled by the name! These fish are absolutely stunning, with colorful stripes meant to be striking against the foundation of your pool.

You can place one, five, or more of these on the bottom of your pool. It will make you feel like you’re literally swimming with the fishes (and not in the Mafia way). Choose from blue and yellow, teal and lime, or orange and black!

You can use just a mixture of these, several of the same color, or you can again create a seascape of your own imagining. It’s awesome to be able to customize your design and make up whatever look you feel will be the most enjoyable to you and your little swimmers.

The bottom fish mosaics come in three different sizes, including:

  • 9” x 8”
  • 13” x 12”
  • 18” x 16”

You might also be able to request custom sizes or even colors if this is something you are specifically interested in.

Groups of Fish Mosaics

Next up, why just have one or two single fish when you could create your own fish group? There are several different types of groups, including an array of fish hanging out in seagrass.

Here are a few of the options you might find:

  • Japanese fish group
  • Sailfish group
  • Koi fish group (6 or 12)
  • Koi fish and lily pads
  • Rock beauty fish group
  • Glow-in-the-dark fish groups (angel fish, moorish idol, butterfly fish)
  • Shell groups (glow-in-the-dark available)

You can choose from one group or even collaborate with multiple groups to create a stunning, fresh look that stands out. The groups typically come with a variety of larger and smaller pieces so you can create the design that appeals most to you.

Many of these mosaics are made with hand-glazed ceramics, although materials can vary. Some of them are also frost-proof, although that depends on the materials and design.

Seagrass Pool and Fish Mosaics

Finally, let’s talk about seagrass mosaics. This can truly just be seagrass that you mingle into your look, or it could be a compiled look and design that already includes fish with it. It’s totally up to you.

Seagrass alone is meant to be an accent piece. These are brilliant shades of green, and have wavy leaves like seagrass would have. In the bottom of your pool, it often looks like the seagrass is moving with the water.

The effect is both unique and serene.

Fun School’s Out Pool Activities

If you have a pool or know someone with a pool, you’ve absolutely got to consider making your space fun for you and the kids. Whether you only swim together as a family, or you host plenty of pool events, it just adds a little something.

Not to mention, your designs will probably be unique. This means it will set you apart from everyone else out there in some way.

How do you use your pool? Maybe you’re the neighborhood pool owner and all the kiddos or neighbors come over to hang out. Perhaps you like to host gatherings and swim parties. Or you may just be hanging out with the family in the pool from day to day.

No matter what you do, these pool mosaics will make it more fun and visually appealing!
